What are the main features of a short assured tenancy?
- The tenant assures to rent the flat for a minimum of 6 months.
- The landlord assures the tenancy for a minimum of 6 months.
- After the initial 6 months, the tenant has a one month's notice period and the landlord a two month's notice period.
- If the tenant is in rent arrears for more than 2 weeks, the landlord can apply for repossesion.*
- If the correct notices have been given or the conditions in the tenancy agreement have been breeched, repossesion has to be granted.
